The Back-Bone Ribcage AIR modification kit allows users to convert their own GoPro Hero4 Black or Silver into an interchangeable lens camera capable of accepting almost any lens. N.B. If you are not confident about converting your camera SeeSense also offer a modification service.

The Ribcage AIR is a professional upgrade which enables users to attach a wide range of high quality megapixel S (M12), CS or C-mount lenses or larger format photo lenses by using a converter. All this is achieved whilst retaining the camera’s functionality and advantages of being a compact, lightweight with built in power and recording. The high quality machined aluminium parts make the camera more robust and also act as a heatsink for the sensor.

As well as standard shooting with interchangeable lenses the camera is now also suitable for applications including microscopy to astronomy and everything in-between. We have supplied these cameras for use in film and broadcast, medical applications especially dentistry, stereoscopic VR180, industrial condition monitoring, astronomy, microscopy, and much more.

PROFESSIONAL SHOOTING

Use with a S-mount (M12 lens) for situations where an ultra compact solution is required. High resolution CS-mount varifocal lenses provide the flexibility to frame the perfect shot with out the expense of purchasing a zoom lens. Use a high quality C-Mount prime lens or attach your favorite SLR lens with an adapter. Use vintage glass like Bolex and Super-8. Pull focus, zoom and control iris settings for the perfect look.

DRONES / GIMBALS

The Ribcage AIR features special mounting points for secure seating on 3DR’s Solo but can be mounted on the same aerial platforms and gimbals as the standard GoPro whilst using our M12 lenses to reduce weight. Customize your field of view by choosing your own lens, no need to lower the resolution for more zoom!

Fully compatible with Entaniya and many other high resolution fisheye lenses for full spherical capture with fewer cameras. Get a full 360° capture with as few as 2 cameras or 360° x 280° with one camera! Ideal compact VR180 stereoscopic camera solution.

THE FLEXIBILITY OF C-MOUNT

Fit a wide range of high resolution C-Mount lenses including prime, varifocal and zoom lenses. Another benefit is that C-Mount is so common that adapters exist for almost every lens type you can think of – e.g. Nikon, Canon, Pentax, etc.
